I'm terrible...

at updating this damn thing. My apologies to anyone out there paying attention. Been spending most of my free time writing/recording the next Vow album, which will be our first full length album. We are 9 songs instrumentally done and a few with vocals already. Only a matter of time til we'll have that ready to share with you. Definitely a departure from what we've done thus far. Very guitar and vocally driven, real drums thanks to our good friend Elliot Babin, and Nick Steinhardt has become more of a full time member being involved on almost every song on this album so far. To get updated on everything Vow so far please visit http://thenativesound.limitedrun.com for our recent catalog including our most recent 12" EP Make Me Yours, which features 5 originals on side A and 3 remixes by good friends Quixotism, Anne and maxm0. Not only are things with Vow fully operational and on a productive path but I've started yet another musical project with Nick Steinhardt as well as our good friends George and Kerry from Deafheaven. We have a few songs in the works now and are slowly but steadily building upon them on the side of all of our main project's recording project's… that's a little confusing but all that means is the 4 of us are spending as much of our free time as possible to provide more listening pleasures for you all. In other news, I've landed a couple big nation wide spots recently for Jeep and Coke Zero, as well as other smaller ones for church's chicken, crocs etc. I will post links at some point… but probably not. OH, almost forgot. If any of you are looking for copies of Wife "Pipe Candy" there is a brand new repress of it over at http://www.mindovermatterrecords.com/store.html They did a killer job at taking what we already made, which was no expense saved to make a very deluxe 12", and took it over the top. My past years worth of select mix/sound design/music work will be posted by the end of July to check out. Also, I have a 7" in production right now with my darkwave project Vow, featuring my good friend on vocals Julia Blake. We will be blasting the internet with music and media first week of August for our debut E.P. "Make Me Young". PERFORMANCES: I will be performing the Echo Plex July 27th with my coworker and good friend Jeremy Ballinger with his project Chitlins and the hit+run crew. ALSO, a tentative performance August 23rd at the Echo with Wife. Our first performance in over a year.

Wife "Pipe Candy" Officially Released!

It's been a super busy month getting this record out the door and planning the set for our record release show at Vacation Vinyl. It went incredibly well! Thanks to all our friends at Vacation and Hydra Head Records for making that happen. Our record will be available online through Hydra Head Records, in store at Vacation for you los angeles native, and on our site by the end of the week. More vendors will be helping to distribute it as well. We are selling the record at cost so we very much appreciate everyone who supported us in buying a copy. We even got some air time on KXLU on their ambient hour this past weekend! Thanks to who ever made that happen. Giving Back to the Community Month at Dios Mio

It's been a fun filled month so far of helping out the homies.

Here are some fun filled times pictured. Will post music from all of these fine musicians that I have the pleasure to know as close friends and to work with musically. I really tried hard to take a more colored, vintage approach to a lot of these recordings and am excited to show off the raw side of dios mio.

Artists pictured include james, billy and shane from Mountains of Blow, Marina/Kristina malota, tyson (TA creative/pool party mastermind, also recording his solo project at the moment) and matt (la dispute) all helping out/performing on marina's solo project. Nick steinhardt and myself recording new wife material. Max concors,film composer, recording demos for trailer music.

Dios Mio debut digital commencement!!!! Finally.

This blog will represent a day to day, or whenever I'm bored, update to my recent activity as a composer, sound engineer and sound designer. Recent Professional Work:

Composed/performed/recorded music for Bojangles Chicken "Bo Time" and Euro RSCG commercials over the past month. Postings to come soon.

Finished my B.A. degree at CSU Northridge and the Mike Curb college of media and arts in the Media and Commercial Music Composition major. Performed my Senior Recital in April, had good friends/composers Max Concors, Maggie Bigelow, David Thomas and Nick Steinhardt help perform 14 min of original music to my favorite footage of ocean documentaries.
